December 20, 2009: This isn’t the best “About” section ever written, but it will do.

My name is Trina Thomas, I’m 22, and I live in Oklahoma. Oklahoma isn’t the most exciting place in the world, but I suppose adventures can be had anywhere if want them.

I enjoy doing lots of things: sewing, needlework, card making, origami, baking, bike riding, conversing, photography, etc. None of these things and the adventures I have in doing them are worth writing epic plays about, but I would like to think that someone might enjoy reading a blog or two about them.

I spend my time is split between home and work. At both places I mostly play all day. It is really hard to consider my work “real work”. Though there are moments of frustration with it, most of them time it is easy as pie and it is wonderful to be around ladies that have been doing what I’m just starting for the last 3 or more decades! After trying a lot of different crafts unsuccessfully, like oil painting (hahaha), it is awesome to find something that seems easy to me, even if I’m “faking” my way through a project half the time.

There are still lots of things I would like to do besides sewing, but everything in its own time seems to be working out just fine.

    Hi Trina,
Thanks for adding my blog to your fav’s. I am here in Skiatook, OK, but, say I am from Tulsa, since that is where I grew up. (years ago, lol)
Glad to see new quilters taking up this art, it brings new designs and new ideas. Love your blog and you are doing a great job on your quilts.
Have you thought about joining a quilting quild? I belong to Owasso’s, Trails End Quilting Guild. Not sure what Tulsa’s is, but, I am sure they have one.
Anyway, nice to meet you and I look forward to checking out your projects.
    Happy quilting.

I don’t have time to join a guild. Working at SewFlakes keeps me pretty busy during the days, we have open sewing on Monday and Thursday nights, and I am the admin for a quilt block swap that is going to last all year. (You can jump into the swap if you would like, the new “rotation” starts in March.

Thanks for responding. I love meeting new people with similar interests!

I noticed a post on the Sew, Mama Sew forum about a fabric remnant/scraps give-a-way. I know that I’m probably too late for it, but if you have any other scraps, I’d be happy to have them. I’m working on a postage stamp and a string quilt and am looking for lots of variety for my quilt.
